Program encourages safe teen driving

Teen drivers and their parents are invited to a safe driving program called Come Home Alive. With the goal of reducing car crashes and saving lives, the program brings together parents, students, school officials, law enforcement representatives and community members.

Students in 10th grade and their parents are the main focus, but parents with students in other grades are also welcome. Come Home Alive presentations begin at 7 p.m. and last 80 minutes. All sessions are free. They will be held on:

• Oct. 1 at Matoaca High, 17700 Longhouse Lane

• Oct. 8 at James River High, 3700 James River Road

• Oct. 15 at Midlothian High, 401 Charter

• Oct. 17 at Bird High, 10301 Courthouse
• Oct. 22 at Meadowbrook High, 4901

• Oct. 24 at Manchester High, 12601 Bailey
Bridge Road
• Nov. 8 at Thomas Dale High, 3626 W.

• Nov. 14 at Monacan High, 11501 Smoketree Drive
• Nov. 19 at Clover Hill High, 13301 Kelly
Green Lane
