CRIME WATCH

Weeknight muggings victimize three county residents

Chesterfield police recently received an odd rash of reports of what they call strong-arm robberies – muggings, basically, in which no weapons were displayed. The string of robberies seems odd because there were three such incidents on the same night, and it wasn’t a weekend.

The first of the robberies on Wednesday, Sept. 12, occurred in the 5600 block of Winterleaf Drive in the Orchardhill subdivision. A known suspect and an unknown suspect assaulted a victim in the 5600 block around 5:40 p.m. and stole his bicycle.

Around 11:45 p.m., two known suspects assaulted a victim in the 4900 block of Commonwealth Centre Parkway and stole an electronic device.

Finally, a resident of the 4100 block of Stigall Drive in Frederick Farms was assaulted around 12:35 p.m. by an unknown suspect. Cash was reported stolen.

Anyone who has information about these incidents or any other crime is asked to call Crime Solvers at 748-0660. You can also submit a tip at www.crimesolvers.net or by texting “WATSON” plus your tip to 274637 (CRIMES).
